In the case of email only registration, we used to generate username based on email (trimming everything after @). But lots of our users need to generate username same as email. So with the recent version, email and username are same. However, you can achieve different username by using filter hook.

add_filter( 'user_meta_username_without_domain', '__return_true' );

We are not checking username existence because for registration, we use built-in WordPress function which itself check duplicate username while registering user. The only reason that behaviour could be changed is using another plugin that manipulates this.

Please check again if you can register a user with the existing username. If you can, please try to deactivate related plugins.

Hi Andreu,

Our nonce creation relays on built in WP function “wp_create_nonce()”. So lifespan should be same as WP unless nonce_life has been changed by any other plugin.

Thanks for your reporting. We have made some change on our dev version. As Post method works most of the case we keep Post as default. But you can change request method by using filter hook on dev version.

add_filter('user_meta_recaptcha_request_method', function () {
    return 'SocketPost';
});

Also we have updated reCAPTCHA PHP client library to 1.1.3 on dev version.

Please visit User Meta >> Settings (Login Tab) then choose user login by “Username” and save your changes.

If you still have the issue please provide us following answer.
1. Are you using user-meta-advanced plugin?
2. Are you using user_meta_default_login_form filter hook?
3. Does the issue exist on previous versions than 1.2.1?
