Hello, Your approach should work. But one things you may be forgotten. Your role name must be pre-recognized by system otherwise new user have role “None”. You can use any role editor plugin to create new role.
Hi Khaled, I did that already, before I posted this question.
I have already created 2 roles using role editor plugin. Then I went to the ‘radio’ user field, with Role as the meta key and putting male, female at the field options. But it didn’t work.
Which role are assigned when you new user have been registered though they select male/female as role? And make sure you use “role” as meta_key. (case sensitive)
With version 1.1.3rc2, you can assign role directly during registration.
Go to User Meta >> Field Editor , click on “Role” field and choose “Allowed Roles” and selcte “Role selection Type”
if you like to use role as hidden field, fill-up “Default Field” with existing role slug and select “Hidden” for “Role Type Selection”
Then go to User Meta >> Forms Editor and drag that “Role” field to your form.
Thats it.
Please note: using “role” as meta_key for extra field no more work from version 1.1.3rc2
Thanks.
