Username – read only

on the documentation, username’s can be read only, but on the field itself, I see only “admin only”. Can I have a username field that’s read only to non-admin’s? and can i have it also w/ the option for only select roles to edit along with admins but have everyone else just read?

For making any field editable only for certain roles, you need to use UMP filter. Here is a quick example:

if( $fieldID != ‘Adjust field ID here’ )

where would i place this code? functions.php?

Yep. functions.php under your current them’s directory.

where do i get the field id? if i look at the source code, i see it as something like this input id:

um_field_18_17

but it changes for each and every profile. so one profile it will be um_field_18_17 and another it’s um_field_18_60.

is there a universal one for the date picker?

figured it out, but using this code makes it read only for everyone it seems, even admin
