MemberAfter doing a lot of testing with changing the messaging – It seems the notification will work as long as I don’t include any link using a href. It is set as an HTML message, so not sure why I can’t include a link in the message. If I strip out the link in the message, it will notify as intended.

MemberI’m having the exact same problem. My site is set to “Need both email verification and admin approval.”
User Registration and Email Verification emails are sending just fine.
Case 1: Admin Approval emails are enabled but left blank
Default email is sent. Subject: %site_title% Account Approves. Body: Your account has been approved on %site_url%.Case 2: Admin Approval emails are enabled, set to HTML, and include tags.
No admin approval emails are sent.Case 3: Admin Approval emails are enabled, set to HTML, but do not include tags.
The email sends.Case 4: Admin Approval emails are enabled, set to HTML, and do include tags.
The email does not send.In cases 2-4, when I reload or return to the Email Notifications admin page, everything I’ve entered under Admin Approval E-mail disappears. I’ve tried re-entering the email text, subject, and setting either Plain Text or HTML repeatedly. Each time, my entries are gone when I reload/return to the admin page. So this really seems like a bug rather than user error or bad configuration.
I’m using:
WordPress 4.2.2
User Meta Pro 1.1.7.1
other plugins:
AccessPress Custom CSS 1.0.3 (for my theme)
Adminimize 1.8.5
Contact Form 7 4.2.1
Disable Comments 1.3.1
Groups 1.7.0
Nav Menu Roles 1.7.0
User Login Log 1.8
WordPress SEO 2.2.1-

MemberNo, I was having lots of issues with User Meta Pro on that site/server. Didn’t get any support (even though I purchased the pro license)… and couldn’t get it troubleshooted, so I gave up on it and basically rebuilt the site on another server. We just went live with the new site yesterday, so don’t know if I am going to be running into the same issues in that environment.

MemberMinodev – You said you had tried a number of other user management plugins prior to using User Meta Pro. I also tried other solutions before settling on User Meta Pro. I was suspicious that maybe I was having so many issues with User Meta Pro because of conflicting settings from the other membership plugins… but couldn’t be sure. That’s ultimately why I decided to rebuild.

MemberCatapultImpact,
That’s my suspicion as well. And this is probably a common situation for developers looking for this functionality. Khaled is troubleshooting the issue on my server. Hopefully he can identify the conflict and make note of it for others.

MemberLooks like notifications are working okay now. I had to test a lot of different messages to make it work though. Seems like it would get hung up on some hard coded html links, but would work better if you use the placeholder values they provide with the plugin.

MemberKhaled made a “quick fix” on my site that seems to be working well. Not sure whether he’ll work it into a patch, or if our situation is isolated.

MemberHi, quick fix is available on our dev version and it will added to next release. Please try our dev version.
Thanks.

MemberKhaled,
I think your fix may have introduced a new bug. When I create users from the front end, it seems to work fine. But when I create users from the back end, it won’t save the data I enter into the extra fields. I click update,
and my entries have vanished. It also won’t let me change the role of these users.Last week I sent you an email with the staging server URL and user accounts. I will resend now. It will be coming from address [myfirstname]@minodev.com

MemberI’m also having this issue as well …. if you activate the user instead of approving them , you can set the same “approval” notification content in that area.
I don’t want to install a dev version of the plugin on a site i’m about to take live but once a hot fix is made maybe it can be published here. It’s good to see this issue getting attention
