show rich text field as read only on front end

Hi,

I am trying to set up a user profile page. Would like user to be able to enter biographical information in a custom rich text field on the back-end and on their profile edit page, but for that to display on the front end as read only. When I do this, back end is fine, but front end shows editable text box with full html code. How can I make it display only the rich text RESULTS… not the html code?

Sorry for delay, just getting back to this. Will try, but am a bit scared. I am on v1.3 now. I see there is a 1.4 now and a dev available. You still recommend dev over 1.4 correct?

What is the ‘safest’ way to try one of those? I’ve never upgraded a working plugin by any means other than the on board wordpress feature in the plugins panel. And it doesn’t list an available upgrade. Do I just donwload and install the plugin as normal? risk?

Hi Matt, Please upgrade to v1.4. To upgrade just deactivate and remove v1.3 from WordPress plugins menu and download, install and activate v1.4.

Just to be 100% clear. If I remove v1.3, all the configuration etc. will remain when I install the 1.4? If not, what do I need to save?

Removing v1.3 will not remove any data/config. It is completely safe.
