August 19, 2014 at 6:52 am #6211STEVEMemberHey guys, I stand corrected. This is what I discovered. I’m using a multi-part registration form broken up into parts using “Page Heading” Formatting Fields. What I noticed is as you move though each “page” of the form all required fields left blank are immediately flagged except the for required Multi-Select fields. Instead, at the end when the user clicks the submit button, any required Multi-Select fields left blank are indicated at the bottom under the Submit Button and the form is prevented from being submitted.
Anyway to change this so that the blank required Multi-Select fields are flagged when the user clicks the “next” button instead of waiting until the end?
I can see frustrated users in a hurry and not bothering to click back through the Form pages and instead just X-ing out of my site all together. My targeted new users/members will be business professionals and I need them more than they need me. I’d like to make things as simple as possible for them.
Thanks.
August 19, 2014 at 12:51 pm #6217KhaledMemberHi Steve,
Thanks for pointing out the issue. There are rooms in pagination form for optimization. We are thinking to redesign fields and forms editor to allows more options, easy to use and optimized way of viewing of generated form along with the on page validation issue. But it could take a little while to finish all of them.

June 26, 2015 at 11:33 am #7333simonedwardsMemberWas this issue ever tackled in a new release?
On a paginated registration form we have an avatar field set to required but user meta doesn’t flag it up as not completed until ‘register’ is clicked on the last page – the user is never going to realistically going to be bothered to go back to page one to upload an avatar…
how do we raise the ‘this field is required’ warning when the user clicks ‘Next’ on the first page?
