How to retrive the custom field data in everywhere?

Hello,

I added some custom field in my form. there my data meta key is “apt_id” now how can i get this data in my template page or everywhere globally?

I used <?php get_bloginfo(‘apt_id’), ?>
but it does not show me data!! can you give the process to show the custom field’s date in everywhere where i want?

You can use following code to retrieve user extra field’s data anywhere in your site.

$user_id = get_current_user_id();
echo get_user_meta($user_id, 'apt_id', true);

Good tip – thank you. This works fine for me too – except for a custom biographical field I have called ‘bio’. Are these fields to be treated differently? Thanks.

Oops – found the answer – it’s an indigenous WP field with the handle ‘description’. Hope that helps others.

$user_id = get_current_user_id();
echo get_user_meta($user_id, 'description', true);
