How can I avoid user registration e-mails from bots

Hi,

I really like this plugin, but for the past few days I keep getting user registration emails from bots(at least 20 a day).

I have the pro version so I did place reCaptcha on the registration form and it’s working fine but bots can still somehow register.
I have no clue how this is happening and if you have any idea about how I can avoid this, please let me know.

If not, I’m thinking of a substitute plan. I’m enabling the “need e-mail verification” option, so bots are registering but their accounts are staying in pending.
I was wondering if there was an option to automatically remove accounts that won’t be activated after a few hours.
Also, I want to disable new registration notifications, but don’t know how to. I went to “User Registration E-mail” -> “Admin Notification” and checked the “disable this notification” box, but seems like its not working.

Can you please help me with these problems?

Hello, Please try dev version. You can find dev version from http://user-meta.com/download/?package=user-meta-pro&version=dev

To install dev version, first disable and remove existing UMP (your data won’t be deleted)

Then go to Settings >> General
There is a checkbox that says “Anyone can register”, uncheck this checkbox and save your changes.

Bots are using http://example.com/wp-login.php?action=register to register in your site.

Thanks for the reply! I totally forgot about this post…

I downloaded the dev version.

If I uncheck the “Anyone can register” box, no one will be able to register right? I do want ppl to register, just dont want bots to spam me.

When I try to go to https://japanizedworld.com/register/ (when being logged out) which is my registration page, it redirects me to this url https://japanizedworld.com/login/?registration=disabled, and I can’t register any new accounts.

Is there another way to stop the bots?
