Custom Registration form for conditionals

I’d like to use custom registration forms or even Gravity Forms with reg add-on to create the registration, but right now any forms bypass the Admin Approval. Do you have any info or maybe hidden fields that could be missing to activate that or do you plan on releasing fields that can use conditionals?
