Bug? Not checking for existing row in user table

We are using this plugin to update user profiles through a form on our site.
We were having trouble with a “signup to newsletter” checkbox finding that for some users it would correctly toggle on and off, but for others it would not stick when pressing “save”. In the course of debugging why, my developer found a debilitating bug in this plugin:

When saving an update for an existing user, the plugin does not check in the wp_usermeta table if the rows *exist* for a given user, it just tries to update them.
This is particularly a problem for users who signed up from facebook – they do not have any of the fields that correspond to the ones in the form built through your plugin (such as first name last name newsletter etc), only a couple fields put in by facebook. Thus, when updating an existing user, your plugin needs to check if the fields corresponding to the ones in this form exist before attempting an update, and if not it needs to insert them rather than attempt to update them.

Hoping for a quick fix as this is an important feature.

Hello, UMP uses update_user_meta for updating extra data to wp_usermeta table. With this function, if existing field are found, it just update the field otherwise it insert it to database.
