My development approach with UMP thus far has been to develop a site on my local machine, then upload to the public webserver. At this point, I am forced to withdraw my licence for localhost and validate it on the public server.
This means that I can no longer do any development on my local machine. Looking at old threads I see that the official advice is to purchase a second license.
I struggle to see how any ongoing development is possible without having to buy a second license. Could someone please answer the following:
1. Is this correct? I have no way of developing on localhost once my site is live, other than to pay double the advertised single site licence fee?
2. Why is this restriction necessary? A localhost installation is clearly of no relevance to any publicly available site?
I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me how I am to continue with development and maintenance, and why none of this is made clear prior to purchasing a licence. (Indeed, there is a feature request: allowing localhost access in the non-pro version would make it possible to actually try out the functionality before purchasing a licence, which would be immensely helpful.)
