I am having some issues with the front end registration, front end login and password reset not working. For some it works, for others it doesn’t.

For those who are not working, they enter the information in and press the submit button, but it just displays the spinning load bar for a second and then nothing happens. Please see video: http://screencast.com/t/wIy4pBHkSpCb.

I imported a list of Admin users from another site. Half of the users on the site are having this problem while the other half of us can log in just fine.

Want to get this debugged before going live because I am going to be importing over 1K users from another site and want to ensure we wont run into any issues doing so.

Hi,

To handle ajax submission, we use admin-ajax.php script. But this script is not reachable on your server. Please make sure http://example.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is giving you 0 when you visit this url. In your case it falls to error “503 Service Unavailable”

No, when I go here: http://ad5.5fd.myftpupload.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php it displays a 0. Anything else that might be causing this problem?

It is currently on a temporary domain… could that be the issue?

Hi,

You can use non ajax login. To use non-ajax login, go to User Meta >> Settings >> Login Tab and check the checkbox saying “Disable AJAX submit”

It doesn’t have anything to do with the AJAX submission. I had deactivated it and users are still having login issues.

It seems to be only for users who have been migrated from another site. I exported out the list from another site and imported the list of users into the new site (prosales.core4element.com). Many users who were imported from the old site experience the problem. They will just enter in their username and password and press Submit, but the will only see the spinning load bar for a second and then nothing. See video: http://screencast.com/t/wIy4pBHkSpCb.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the AJAX submission because I had that setting deactivated for a few days before running into this problem.

It seems that if I log in from the backend (prosales.core4element.com/wp-login.php) I can log in without any issues. Once I log in from there, I am able to log in using the User Meta login on the front end.

Also, wanted to say that I thought initially this problem was only happening for users that I imported into the site. This is false. It is happening for established users as well.

Also, I couldn’t log into the site using multiple users accounts (I had created a number of test user accounts for each membership level). I would get the same issue (login spins for a brief moment and does nothing) when trying to log in with each user account with no success. BUT I logged in with only one user by going to the regular WordPress login (prosales.core4element.com/wp-login.php), and now I can log in with all the test user accounts from the front end (even though I only logged in from prosales.core4element.com/wp-login.php with only one user account). Very odd.

Are you using any caching plugin? And please try version 1.1.7 as we have updated codebase for login widget/shortcode.

Not currently using caching plugin. I will update now. Do you think this will fix the problem we are having with login?

Now that I upgraded, it says I do not have the Pro Version. Even though I do have the Pro Version (that is what was installed before I upgraded). Can’t use the login shortcode without the Pro version. Please HELP ASAP!

It also broke the registration form. We had custom fields but now there are some weird buggy things going on. Please help ASAP! I can’t have the site displaying these issues.

Hi

Please download latest version from http://user-meta.com/downloads/ then completely remove existing user-meta directory then upload and install newly downloaded version.
