I have a simple login form with a Remember Me checkbox configured as meta_key=remember and having a single Option as 1=Remember Me
The issue is that the checkbox does not in fact remember the user following login. If I visit the login page and complete the form and check “Remember Me” and then login and then logout and revisit the login page I do not see the checkbox checked nor is my username populated in the form.
What am I missing? It just doesn’t seem to work. I’ve even tried using the default shortcode with type=”login” and no form name – the checkbox renders but doesn’t do anything or work 🙁
Hello,
If the user check remember me checkbox while login, then the browser will remember the user until logout. In other hand, if the user doesn’t check the checkbox, user session will expire with closing the browser. If you want remember me checkbox to be preselected, put 1 to default value.
when I use the standard login form remembering works fine, only if I use my own form, users will not remembered. I put “remember” as Meta Key and “1=Remember me” to field options. I tried different fields and different writings. Do you have a clue, what’s wrong?
Thanks for your help
Matthias
