I’m using Buddypress 1.6, and even though it loads this plugin, the shortcodes here don’t work within BP. So, assuming there’s not a proven answer for making the shortcode work, my next best idea is to try to setup a buddypress component wherein I call the forms with PHP.
I can work with the get_user_meta() function, but I’d much rather call the user meta form I built than rebuild one entirely. What would that php code look like?
Let me refine the question. I now have the forms showing via shortcodes, which I achieved by simply adding widget zones to the buddypress component. So, I can work with the shortcodes after all. But I have both a public and private use for member profiles. My site is essentially a directory of members at it’s core. I have the edit profile section working properly through simple use of the shortcode, but is there an easy way to publish a public version of the member profiles without having to write custom code using get_user_meta()? That’d be swell if I could achieve it through a small modification of this plugin. I essentially want to show the public profile of the buddypress profile that’s being viewed. I understand that would entail some coding on my part to tell the user-meta code to use the Buddypress Profile ID of the current page.
I’m just hoping to at least be point in the right direction.
Hello, So far UMP doesn’t provide shortcode or template tag for building public profile. You may need to populate user’s public profile by calling get_user_meta() for extra field.
Thanks.
