I am surprised that almost two years later this issue is this the same. I think I’ll hack a quick fix with jQuery for my own site, but it would be nice to see this solved for checkboxes in a clean way.

OK, so turns out you need to add a space after the comma.

So it would be “track1, track2” instead of “track1,track2”.

This seriously needs to be documented.

I figured out that you need to give the capability manage_options for users to acces the import/export page.

You need to enable user-related capabilities for the user role you want to give permission to using the User Role Editor plugin. This is not related in any way to User Meta Pro which only allows you to customize which fields will be visible in the backend user-edit.php profile page.

To the plugin authors, I do have a similar question however: on multisite, how can I allow Admins to access the import-export page? /wp-admin/admin.php?page=user-meta-import-export

Because right now, only the super admin has access, regular admins get this error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I know it’s been a long time since you posted this, but do you remember which plugins you had to disable to make the import work?

I also would like to know if there is any way to use user taxonomies with this plugin.

Is there a filter or hook I can use to change the values of a multi-select or group of checkboxes to display user taxonomies and update them upon submission of the form?

If not, can you suggest a way to easily filter users based on checkbox values?
