Is it possible to auto login a user when they click on the confirm email? Currently, my setup is… user needs to click on email to activate their account, then they are landing on my website but they have to manually enter their username and password to login.
What I want to do is… 1) have them get the email 2) click on the confirm email link 3) be directed to my website and logged in. Is this possible with either… settings on your plugin, some additional code or help of another plugin?
Hi, I saw on another forum topic someone asked a similar question and you suggested to add the code below to functions. I did that but I now have a similar problem as that original poster did.
So now when a user clicks on the confirm email link, visually the flow looks the same but they are logged in in the background but the user would not know they are logged in so i need a redirect or a page refresh to let them know they are logged in.
When users click the e-mail verify link, they get taken to a page called ‘verify-email’ and see the message;
‘Your email is successfully verified and the account has been activated. Click here to login’
However, when they click to any other page on the site from the menu then they can see that they are already logged in. So is the page ‘verify-email’ the standard redirect? It appears to be a blank page created during the met-user install. Can I redirect to another page instead? Or is there another solution?
Would really appreciate your help.
Thanks.
