I’m trying to display the author’s personal url which I use as a profile page for everyone. This initially worked with the following code %site_url%/author/%display_name%.
However I noticed that people with spaces in their username couldn’t use this link since their usernames need a dash in the place of a space.
So what I’d like to do is create a new %variable% called something like %author_url% which displays the username with all spaces replaced by dashes. I searched the plugin files but couldn’t find where these %variables% are created.
So where would I do this? Or if there’s an easier way to do this, how do I do it?
