I want my site to require email verification upon user registration. The problem is when users click the email activation link, there is an error that says “Email Not Found”

Here is what the email activation link looks like:

Login

emergentinc@hotmail.com is the email address used for registration. Does anyone know what is causing this error? I am using the paid version of the plugin. Thanks!

Will upgrading require me to rebuild all of my fields forms that I have already created?

No, you don’t need to rebuild any form or fields. Jast follow http://user-meta.com/upgrade-notice/ while upgrading.

Ok thanks. So I am ok to delete the existing plugin version completely, then add the new version and all my settings will be there after installing the new plugin version? Sorry for the extra questions – I spent many hours configuring so I want to double check. Thanks!

Yes. First completely remove existing version, then install and active new version. Please clear your browser cache before updating any fields, forms or user meta settings.

It is importent because, new javascript code added with new version, if you don’t update your browser cache, new js file will not loaded immediately, so there will some new method missing while you try to update any user-meta data.

I just isntalled the newest version and still get the “email not found” error when trying to activate an email address. Is this a known problem? Any other ieas for a fix?

Also, after updating the plugin, I have a new error that wasn’t there before. This page: http://www.insurancelibrary.com/login/ now has an error saying form not found when I access it when I am not logged in, even though the form is indeed there and this is the code on the “login” page: [user-meta type="login" form="user_login_page"]

If I am logged and then access it, the page behaves normally. Thoughts on these 2 items?

In fact, we didn’t heard about this issue before. However Email verification link generation are differ from version 1.1.2 to new one, so new one was suggested.

In your first post, it seems that, @ sign was missing for email with verification link.
action=email_verification&email=emergentinchotmail.com

Did you tried with new user registration with latest version? or just try to validate that link?

You can use shortcode: [user-meta type=”login”]

Ok the login thing is working now. The email validation still is not. It looks like the @ sign is now in there too. Here is the latest email validation link that resulted in “email not found” for me:
