Differing roles and activation roles per form?

Hello!

On my local wedding vendor website, I have 4 custom roles:
advertiser
bride
groom
planning helper

I want to manage these user registrations with 2 forms I have created.

I want a user of form 1 to be assigned the role of advertiser

I want a user of form 2 to choose between bride, groom and planning helper roles when they register

I want advertiser accounts to require activation by a site admin

I want bride/groom/planning helper accounts to activate automatically

Can you guide me on how to do this?

Disregard my question about assigning roles on the forms, I see how to do that now. Just need advice on requiring activation for advertisers only.

Hello Bud Miller,

Role-based activation is not implemented with UMP. However, you can use following code to your functions.php to overwrite the settings.

add_action('user_register', function($userID) {
    global $userMeta;  
    $status = $userMeta->getUserRole($userID) == 'advertiser' ? 'pending' : 'active';     
    update_user_meta($userID, $userMeta->prefixLong . 'user_status', $status);
}, 100);
